Corruflex® Gimbal Expansion Joints An Adsco Corruflex® Gimbal expansion joint, which is a compound hinged type expansion joint, absorbs angular rotation in more than one plane by use of two pairs of hinges attached to a common floating gimbal ring.
Hinges prevent any axial movement and are designed to eliminate pressure thrust forces on end points, thereby greatly reducing the structural requirements for anchors.
The only forces acting on anchors are the forces to deflect the bellows and guide or support friction forces. |
