When your system requires a long-term, low maintenance, field serviceable solution, ADSCO Slip-Type expansion joints are the answer. ADSCO Slip-Type expansion joints are the culmination of over 100 years of evolution and engineering excellence. In addition to a variety of standard designs, engineers can and have customized joints for extreme movements, temperatures, pressures, diameters and various media.
The "RJ" Ram-Pak Slip-Type expansion joint offers exceptional value as a method of absorbing thermal expansion in pipelines and process systems. The use of Ram-Pak external packing pistons with quarter turn shut off valves allow additional packing at full line pressure. The RJ utilizes both flake graphite and graphite rope packing.
The Type "IS" Gland-Pak is ideal for use where a guided expansion joint is desired, but where circumferential space is limited. IS type expansion joints use Gland packing rope which can be tightened in service. The gland design, using graphite rope, allows for complete in line field replacement of the packing. Flake graphite packing is not used in the IS design, eliminating any concern of minute graphite flakes entering the media flow.
The "RBJ" Ram-Pak Slip-Type expansion joint is the hybrid of our packing options. With both the Gland packing and the Ram packing methods, this product offers the “belt and suspenders” for operator maintenance. The combination of Ram and Gland packing assures sealing performance many years into the future. Like the "IS" joint, the Gland also allows future removing and replacing of the packing without removing the joint from the line.
